Allen Richard Fielding

 

     Allen R. Fielding of Malden died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, he was 80.  Born on July 6, 1928 in Malden, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Harding) Fielding.  Allen was raised and educated in Malden and was graduate of Malden High School.   Allen married his sweetheart, Jean M. McVane on July 6, 1950 in St. Joseph’s Church in Malden.  The couple spent over 58 years in marriage together, raising and caring for their family.  Allen worked for many years as an insurance agent for the Prudential Life Insurance Co.   Allen was a well known musician in the area.  He was an accomplished drummer and singer and played with many local bands.  He was a life-time member of the East Side AA in Malden.  Allen had a love of playing horseshoes and enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing.  Through all his life's hobbies and passions, Allen's true passion was his family.  He truly was a "Family Man." 

     Allen is survived by his wife, Jean M. Fielding of Malden, Debra J. Callinan of Malden, Richard A. Fielding of Malden, Joseph E. Fielding of Malden, and Jacqueline M. Fielding of Wakefield, his siblings, Joseph Fielding of Malden, Robert Fielding of Chicago, IL, Florence Zair of Malden, and Marjorie LaCau of Malden, his grandchildren, Jonas, Jessie, Patrick, Christopher, Tracey, Julie, Kasey, and Jason, and his great-grandchildren, Sarah, Sydney, Sophia, Kyle, and Patrick.

     Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Monday July 28, 2008 at  9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10AM. 

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 4 to 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Allen’s memory may be made to the Hallmark Health VNA Hospice, 178 Savin Street, Malden, MA 02148.
