Robert
Lawrence Florentino
Robert L. " Bob" Florentino died Saturday morning June 21, 2008 at the
Caritas St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston, after a short
illness, he was 55. Bob was born on July 20, 1952 the son of the
late Robert Florentino and Bernice M. (Connelly) Leazott.
Robert was born in Everett and educated in the Malden School
system and was a graduate with Malden High School Class of 1970.
Bob was the donut baker for the former Mike's Donut Shop in
Everett for thirty five year. He would rise early in the morning
and bake all the donuts and bake goods that the shop would sell
during the day. This left his afternoons open to spend time with
his two children, Maryellen and Robert, this was truly time he
cherished, he was a devoted father. Bob worked at Mike's Donuts
for a total of thirty-five years until the shop was sold and was
known to never miss a day’s work in thirty-five years, a job he
truly loved, Bob retired in 2003.
In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and
friends. He was an avid coin collector and loved collecting rock
''n" roll records and was a fan of Elvis Presley.
He
loved to bowl and was member of various Malden bowling leagues,
he was also a Boston sports fan and always followed
the sports stat's. Bob had
been living in Millis at the time of his passing and was
formerly of Saugus, Everett and Malden.
He is survived by his loving children, Maryellen Florentino and
Robert K. Florentino both of Everett, his sister Carol A.
Carlisle and her husband George of Malden, his brother John
Leazott and his wife Sharon of West Peabody. He was the loving
uncle of Amy Boisvert of Florida, Allison Haley and her
husband Timothy of Malden, and Tori Leazott and Jared
Leazott both of West Peabody.
He was
preceded in death by his mother Bernice Leazott, his father
Robert Florentino, and his step-father Charles Leazott.
Visitation
will be held at the Weir - MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home,
144 Salem St. Malden, on Tuesday, June 24th. from
5-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at
10:00 A.M. in the Weir-Mac Cuish Funeral Home, the Rev.
Martha A. Dominy of First Baptist Church, Malden will be
officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in
Everett.
