Richard Benjamin Hachey, Jr.
Richard B. Hachey, Jr. of Malden, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, he was 56. Born on November 25, 1951 in Malden, he was the son of Richard B. “Dick” Hachey, Sr. of Malden and the late Clara B. (Jackson) Hachey. Richard was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High. He worked for many years in the U.S. Post Office. Richard was most recently a clerk in the Belmont post office until he retired just recently. Richard was a member of the East Side Athletic club as well as the Malden Moose Club. Richard enjoyed playing softball for the Moose in hi earlier days. Richard is survived by his father, Richard B. “Dick” Hachey, Sr. of Malden, Walter J. "Joe" Hachey and his wife Kathy, of Rollinsford, NH, and his favorite niece and Godchild, Jessica Hachey of Melrose. Visitation will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 3 to 7 PM. At the family’s request, funeral services will be held privately. Contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to a Hospice organization of one’s choice.
