Richard Hofman
Richard Hofman, died suddenly, Monday October 29, 2007, while bow hunting in the
woods of Billerica, he was 73. Born on May 25, 1934 the second son, of the late
Frank E. & Dorothy C. (Jones) Hofmann. Richard was born and raised in Melrose.
He was educated in the Melrose school system and after completing high school,
he went on to work for Spri-It Plastics, formerly of Malden. There he would set
up and repair the machinery for hot stamps. He remained with the company when
they moved to Wakefield and after 45 years with the company, retired in 1997.
Richard was an avid outdoors man. He loved hiking and hunting in the woods. He
also enjoyed bow and arrow hunting. He was bow hunting with friends in the
Billerica woods at the time of his death. He was an active member of the Woburn
Sports Club and often competed in bow and arrow competitions. Richard was a
former resident of Malden for over fifty-two years and had moved to Stoneham for
the last three years.
He is
survived by his daughters, Christine Hofman of Malden, Kimberly Hofman of
Saugus, his brother. Frank E. Hofmann of Tewksbury, his sisters, Elaine Gerardi
of Wakefield, Beverly Sheehan of Stoneham, Marlene Sinagra of Everett, and
Jacqueline May of Malden as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his wife Grace E. (Frenette) Hofman.
At Richard’s request, visiting
hours have been omitted and interment will be private.
