Louise Scotti

 

     Louise  (LoStocco) Scotti,  died Monday afternoon, March 3, 2008 at the Don Orione  Home in East Boston, she was 96.  Louise was born on November 23, 1911, the daughter of the late Fortunato & Rosa (Nasti) LoStocco in Italy.

      Louise was the oldest of five sisters. She came to United States at an early age with her family and settled in Cambridge. Louise worked as a seamstress for most of her life and enjoyed caring for her family.  While living in Cambridge Louise’s husband Thomas Scotti  passed away on January 20, 1954 at the age of 46. She later moved to Somerville for the next twenty years and finally resided with her son Tony and his wife Judy in Medford.

       In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, but mainly her love was her gardening. She spent many hours of the day working her garden that was full of rose bushes. She also enjoyed talking to her friends and other folks that would enjoy her garden.  Louise was always giving her roses away as samples of her labors. 

      Louise  is survived by her loving son, Anthony  J. “Tony” Scotti of Medford, her cherished grandchildren,  Toniann  Scotti-Snow of New York, Mary Louise McDonald and Patricia Dugan, both of Somerville, her great-granddaughters, VictoriaLyn Dugan and Sophia Judith Snow, her loving sisters, Josephine Iaconis and Beatrice Spinali, both of San Diego, CA and Ferenda Leblanc of  Idaho.

       She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Scotti, her father Fortunato LoStocco, her mother Rosa Nasti, her daughter, Rose Anna McDonald and her husband Richard, her daughter-in-law, Judith A. Scotti, and her sister Mary Boschetto.

       Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours at the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday, March 6th from 2-4 & 7-9.

       Contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to the Don Orione Home, C/O The Activity Fund, 111 Orient St., East Boston, MA 02128.   

     Louise’s funeral will be held from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Friday, March 7th at 9:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Genoa, 185 Summer St. Somerville, MA at 11 AM.  Interment to follow in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
