Laurie Ann McCarthy

 

     Laurie A. McCarthy of Malden died Monday, May 26, 2008 at her home, she was 45.  Born in Malden on October 24, 1962, she was the daughter of Ruth (Likely) McCarthy and the late John J. McCarthy, Jr.  Laurie was a graduate of Pope John High School in Everett.  She was currently working for Verizon in Middleton in their computer information department.  Laurie was an avid equestrian rider.  She was a member of the United States Dressage Federation and rode out of their facility in southern New Hampshire. 

     Laurie is survived by her mother, Ruth McCarthy of Malden, her siblings, John McCarthy and his wife, Deborah of Londonderry, NH, Joann McCarthy of Malden, Thomas McCarthy and his wife, Kelly of Stoneham, her sister-in-law, Janice McCarthy of Andover, her six nieces and nephews, and her very best friend, Amy Borner of Wayland.

In addition to her father, Laurie was preceded in death by her brother, Paul McCarthy.

     Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, MA on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 AM.  Fr. William J. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph’s Church will be presiding.  Burial will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 4 to 8 PM.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions in Laurie’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Division of Development, 10 Brookline Place, West Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924 or to the charity of one's choice.
