 John “Jack” H. Meuse

John “Jack” H. Meuse,  76, a  longtime resident of Malden,  died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, Massachusetts.  John was born and raised in Malden.  He attended the Cheverus School before attending Brown High School.   On February fouth, 1951, John married his sweetheart, Shirley L. Meuse, and the two settled in Wakefield where they began to raise their family.   They moved back to Malden in 1955, where they remained.  They became members of Sacred Hearts Church, where they also brought their children. 

John had worked as a carpenter.  He worked at BBN in Cambridge, where he became the Maintenance Supervisor, and  had a crew of 12 working under him.  An injury sustained at work forced his retirement at the age of 52.

John was an avid woodsman.  He grew up learning to fish and  hunt deer, and kept that passion with him throughout his life.  He also introduced the sports to his own children.  He was also a devoted husband, and enjoyed the company of  his wife Shirley. 

He is survived by his wife Shirley L Meuse of Malden, his children,  John A. Meuse of Billerica, MA, Stephen R. Meuse  of Maine, Cheryl A. Stifano  of Medford, Janet A. Crowe  of Methuen, Michael W. Meuse  of NH, Donna L. Dingle  of Melrose,  his brothers, and George Meuse  of DE, and  Paul Meuse of OK, as well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Francis and Helen (Meuse) Meuse, his brothers William Meuse,   Robert Meuse,   Frank Meuse, twins John E. & Thomas E. Meuse, and his sister, Helen Santimango. 

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden  on Tuesday, Nov 13th,  from 4 - 8 PM

Funeral services will be held  from the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home. 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Wed, Nov 14th, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, Malden, at 10AM. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
