 Nicholas Christopher Provitola,  29, passed away suddenly on May 18th.   Nicholas was born in Stoneham and raised in Malden,  the son of Michael P. Provitola and Lynn M. (Habeeb).  While growing up he had moved to Middleton and attended Masconoment Regional High School.  He graduated from Masconoment with the class of 1998.  A short time after high school, Nick returned to the Malden area.  Nick worked as a chef, and had always amazed his family with his ability to make a great meal from seemingly nothing.  He also enjoyed landscaping on the side.  Nick loved sports, especially baseball, and was quite a skillful player while growing up.  He also enjoyed quiet time fishing. 

He is survived by  his father  Michael P. Provitola and step-mother Pat2rice of Saugus, his mother, Madeline Provitola of Malden, his brother, Michael P. Provitola Jr. of San Diego CA, his sister, Amanda L. Provitola of Malden, his grandparents, Frances Provitola of Malden, and George Habeeb of Malden, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Armando “Mundo” Provitola and Sally Habeeb.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 2009 from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden at 7:45AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 9 AM.  Interment Services will be private. 

Visitation will be held at funeral home on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nicholas’ memory may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, Development Dept. 271 Huntington Ave, 2nd Floor Boston, MA 02115
