Joan A. Ross
Joan A. Ross of Brockton, formerly of East Boston, died Tuesday,
June 10, 2008 at the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
in Brockton, she was 59. Born on January 11, 1949 in
Somerville, Joan was the daughter of the late John A. and Helen
B. (Wilkins) Manning. Joan was raised and educated in Malden.
Joan worked for as a cook for City of Brockton’s school
department. Joan had a love for crocheting. She also had a
great passion for baking cakes as well as decorating them with
an artists’ touch. Her true passion, however, was always her
friends and family.
Joan is survived by her daughter, June M. and her husband,
Joseph Hickey of Everett, her siblings, Judith A. Fitzpatrick of
Malden, Mark Manning of Marshfield, and Charles Eggleston of
Burbank, CA, her grandchildren, Paige, Robert, and Megan Hickey,
all of Everett, as well as her close friend, Patricia Allen of
Brockton. Joan also leaves many nieces and nephews.
In addition to
her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son, Robert E.
Ross and her sister, Helen M. Traniello.
Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 9 AM followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main
Street, Malden at 10 AM. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey, Pastor of Sacred
Hearts Church will be presiding. Burial will follow in Holy
Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Visitation
will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, June 12, 2008 from
4 to 8 PM.
