John Elmer
Ruddock

John E. Ruddock, a lifelong resident of Malden, died Saturday,
February 7, 2009 at his home, he was 81. Born on March 6, 1927
in Malden, he was the son of the late Carl and Mabel (Murray)
Ruddock. John was raised and educated in Malden. On February
28, 1945, John enlisted into the U.S. Coast Guard to help fight
for our country during World War II. He was honorably
discharged on May 29, 1946, having attained the rank of Seaman,
1st Class. Upon his return home, John began his
family and went to work for the City of Malden. He was employed
with the Malden Housing Authority in their maintenance
department. He worked with them for over 22 years until his
retirement in 1995. John was a member of the V.F.W. Post #639
in Malden as well as a member of the American Legion, Post #9 in
Malden.
John is survived by his children, Karen M. Ruddock, Thomas J.
Ruddock and his wife, Janie and their children, T.J. and Charlee,
and Steven M. Ruddock, all of Malden, and Martin C. Ruddock of
Florida.
In addition to
his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, John W.
Ruddock.
Visitation
will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 4 to 8
PM.
A graveside
service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 in the Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden at
10AM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the
Forest Street gates at 9:45 AM.

flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to American
Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701- 9376.
