Edna Alberta Saville




Edna Alberta (Knight) Saville, 93, a longtime resident of Malden, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in Tewksbury. Edna was born & educated in the Roxbury section of Boston. She graduated from Roxbury High School with the Class of 1930. At one time she worked for the B & M Railroad in Charlestown for 14 years. Edna worked for the Angel Memorial Veterinary Hospital in Boston for 15 years. She also worked for the M.B.T.A. on the Greenline as a Toll Collector for 12 years, and was a member of the Carmen's Local 589.   She finally retired at the age of 70.
Edna was a member of the DAV in Boston Chapter # 10,a member of the Senior center in Malden. She was also a past member of the St. Francis of Assisi Club, Medford, the MBTA Pension Club Boston, the YMCA in Malden and 2 bowling leagues in Malden. Mrs. Saville lived in Malden, Massachusetts for 45 years and was previously from the Roxbury section of Boston.

She is survived by her son, Francis J. Walsh of Lawrence, and her grandchildren, Brian Walsh of MDerry, NH, Kevin Walsh of Groveland and Laura Ann Walsh of Haverhill, as well as 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Saville, her parents, Edwin and Catherine (Murphy) Knight, her brother Edward Knight, and her sister Gertrude Sullivan.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Sunday, Dec 2 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday, Dec 3rd, at 9AM for a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 279 Main Street, Malden, at 10AM. Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey of Sacred Hearts Church will be officiating.
