George
Washington Stanley
George Washington Stanley, 66, a longtime resident of Malden,
died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at in Peabody, surrounded by the
comfort of his family. George was born and raised in Malden.
After completing his education, he began working in the
construction industry, mostly doing paving and hot topping. He
eventually opened his on business, Asphalt Services of Malden.
He continued running the company until his son George took over,
and retired when the company relocated to Connecticut. George
was a longtime Mason, belonging to the Lodge of Sterling, in
Malden.
He is survived by his wife Lloraine Stanley of Malden, MA, his
sons , Michael Stanley of NH and George Stanley of Oakdale, CT,
his daughters Cheri Stanley of Peabody, Dawn Stanley of
Everett, and Daisy May Stanley of Billerica, his brothers,
Samuel Stanley (brother) of S. Attleboro and James Stanley of
Peabody, his sisters, Daisy Stanley of Peabody, Betsy Beaton of
NH, and Jane Merrit of NH. As well as 12 Grandchildren and 8
Greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth (Stone)
Stanley, and his brothers Thomas Stanley, and Lee Grant
Stanley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29th,
10:00 AM at the Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden. Pastor Rick of Greater Grace Ministries
in Saugus will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mount
Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
Visitation will be held for George at the funeral home on
Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM |
