Edward John Stelmack, 52, a disabled quadriplegic for the last
four years, died Friday, February 9, 2001 at the Mease
Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbour, Florida. Edward was born
in Chelsea, MA and had been a resident of Malden for 44 years.
He was educated in the Malden School system and graduated for
Malden Technical School. After high school he worked for General
Electric in Lynn for 2 years. He was called to serve his country
and enlisted in the U S Army serving in Vietnam with the 335th
Trans Co. and the 11th. Infantry which had served between the
years of 1967-1971. He was a Purple Heart recipient for his
wounds in the war. After his discharge he returned to GE in Lynn
and worked a total of 18 years as a jet engine assembler. Edward
had been a resident of New Port Richey, FL for the last 7 years.
He is survived by his wife Betty (Callahan) Stelmack, his father
Edward Stelmack of Malden, his brother Richard J. Stelmack and
his wife Sue Ann of Stoneham, MA His aunt Rose Testa of Peabody,
MA, his niece Adrianne Stelmack and nephew Michael Stelmack of
Stoneham, MA.
He was preceded in death by his mother Josephine (Guisto)Stelmack.
He was born February 20, 1948 in Chelsea, MA the son of Edward
and the late Josephine (Guisto) Stelmack. He served in the Army
during Vietnam Era having attained the rank of PFC. He enlisted
on June 13, 1968 at Boston, MA discharged on January 14, 1970 at
