Marjorie
Agnes Taylor
Marjorie A. Taylor of Malden, passed away on September 9, 2010
in the Golden Living Center, Dexter House in Malden, she was
90. Born on December 6, 1919 in Everett, she was the daughter
of the late William G. and Mable M. (Barnett) Taylor. Marjorie
was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden
High School with the Class of 1937. After school Marjorie, went
to work for the Malden Savings Bank. She worked in the loan
department and then later, as the supervisor of the
safety-deposit boxes. After 18 years at Malden Savings Bank,
Marjorie worked for a few years for the Malden School Department
as the assistant principal’s secretary before moving over to
work for Malden City Hall in their Old Age Assistance Program.
She spent over 20 years in service to the city before her
retirement. Marjorie was a faithful communicant of St. Paul’s
Episcopal Parish in Malden and was a member of the St. Anne’s
Guild.
Marjorie is survived by her Goddaughter, Julie Bickerstaff and
her husband, Todd Richard of York, ME, her cousins, Jacqueline
Gorton and her husband, Robert and their children of New
Providence, NJ including, Marjorie Lynn Gorton, her Goddaughter
of Revere, and William and Clemence Campbell and their children,
both of Whippany, NJ, and her very dear friends, Virginia Smyth
and Carrie Amaral, both of Malden.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by
her brother, William A. Taylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September
15, 2010, in St. Paul's Episcopal Parish, 26 Washington Street,
Malden at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Forest Dale
Cemetery, Malden.
