Anna E. Throop
Anna E.
Throop, a long time resident of Malden who had recently been
living in Medford, passed away on Thursday, March 3rd,
in Melrose. Anna was born in 1924, the daughter of David C. and
Marion E. (MacCallum) Morgan. She was raised in Everett and
graduated from the Everett Vocational School with the class of
1942. Soon after high school, she met and married her
sweetheart, Edward G. Throop, who had just returned from
fighting in WWII. The two first settled down in Roxbury, before
moving to Malden. Anna and Edward shared over 56 years
together. Anna was a homebody, and was dedicated to watching
her soap operas.
Anna is
survived by her sisters, Patricia Miner of Melrose and Janice
Flynn of Salem, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition
to her husband Edward, Anna was preceded in death by her
parents, David C. and Marion E. (MacCallum) Morgan, and her
sisters, Joan E. Carr and Lois Landers.
Funeral
services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, on Tuesday, March 8th, at
9:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts
Church, Malden at 10:00AM. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s
Cemetery, Boston. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on
Monday, March 7th, from 6 – 8 PM.
