James F. Urban April 4, 1938 - January 8, 2010
Shelby and Jim
James F. “Jim” Urban died at home, Friday morning January 8, 2010, after a lengthy illness, he was 71. Jim was born on April 4, 1938 the son of Walter J. & Theresa (Murphy) Urban. He was born and educated in Ware, MA. Jim met his true love, Claudine A. Wentziger and the couple later married in Boston on September 17, 1963. They settled in East Boston and raised their two son’s Philip & Christopher. Jim & Claudine were married for forty-six years until Jim’s passing. Mr. Urban was a former employee with the Stride Rite Shoes Company of Boston for fifteen years and retired in 1995. Jim and Claudine had resided in Malden for the last seven years. Jim was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following all the Boston teams. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and his cherished grandson Shelby. In his spare time he enjoyed walks with his dog Maverick around the neighborhood. Mr. Urban was the husband of Claudine A. (Wentziger) Urban. Father of Philip A. Urban of Malden and Christopher F. Urban and his wife Florence of Lynn. He was the brother-in-law of Frances Mannix of Watertown & Yvette Bressler and her husband Sidney of Maitland, FL. He was the cherished grandfather of Shelby L. Urban of Lynn and numerous other relatives. Loving brother of the late Lisa Sherson formerly of Ware. Funeral service for Jim will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, at 12 noon. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the service from 10AM – 12 noon.
