Hugh M. Adams, Jr. 71, a retired courier, died Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA. Hugh was born and educated in Malden and after completing school enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in November of 1949. When he was discharged he became a courier for Bay Bank of Boston and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Centre United Methodist Church of Malden. Mr. Adams was a lifelong resident of Malden, MA..

He is survived by his sister, Charlotte M. Caron of Melrose, her brother, Ernest S. Adams of Wilmington, his sister, Barbara L. Adams, of Malden and several nieces and nephews.

He was born February 26, 1930 in Malden, MA. the son of the late Hugh M., Sr. and Florence (Ellinger) Adams.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street Malden, on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

Contributions in Hugh's Memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute , 44 Binney Street, Boston MA 02115.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4th at 10:00 A.M. at Weir Funeral Home with the Rev. John C. Blair of Centre United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
