Karen  Marie Ambrogne

 

Karen  Marie Ambrogne,(Poe) 49, of Everett, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Karen was born in 1961 in the Naval Hospital in Charlestown. She was raised and educated in Malden.  While growing up in Malden she was active with the Malden YMCA Swim team, and was a Majorette at Malden High School.  She graduated from Malden High with the class of 1979  She then attended the Katherine Gibbs school in Boston where she received her business degree.  She first took employment with the Boston Five Savings Bank where she worked in the commercial loan department.  Later, when her children were born, she became a licensed day care provider, allowing her to watch over her own little girls along with other children. When her children went off to school, she received her real estate license and became a Real Estate Agent working for Century 21 in Everett, and then Cobblestone Realty in Chelsea.  

In March of 1992, Karen and Jerome A. Ambrogne were married in the First Church of Malden, Congregational.  They first lived in Malden before settling down in Everett nearly 10 years ago.  Karen enjoyed crafts, and in the past was an avid bowler. 

She is survived by her husband Jerome A. Ambrogne,  her mother, Ann Manning of Malden, her daughters,  Jessica  A. Ambrogne  of Everett, and  Allison M. Ambrogne of Everett, MA, her sister,  Jennifer Manning of Malden, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her father Clarence L.  Poe  

Visitation will be held at the  Weir – MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Friday, February 25th,  from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM  

Funeral services will be held from the funeral home,  on Sat, Feb 26th, at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden, at 10AM.

Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
