Mary “Dolores” Armstrong

 

     Mary “Dolores” (Gillespie) Armstrong died Monday morning, June 4, 2007 at the Epoch Senior Care Center, in Melrose, she was 75. Born on April 9, 1932 in Malden, the daughter of the late William H. and Loretta M. (Moran) Gillespie.

     Dolores was raised and educated in Malden. She was graduate of Malden High School Class of 1950. She had worked various jobs throughout her life but she especially enjoyed her last job at Joann’s Fabrics, because of her knitting and sewing talents. Dolores could be found anytime reading, a past time she totally enjoyed.

She is survived by her sister Catherine Ciotti and her husband Roy of West Peabody, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Armstrong, her brother William D. Gillespie, and her twin brother Thomas A. Gillespie.

At the request of the family, visiting hours have been omitted.

Contributions in Dolores memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

     Funeral from the Weir~Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday, June 7th. at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 10AM. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
