Dorothy "Dot" Austin

 

Dorothy "Dot" Austin, 92, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at the Haven Health Care Center in Chelsea, MA Dot was born in Peabody along with her twin sister Doris, she was educated in the Malden school system. In her early years, Dot lived in Malden along with her sister, were they both lived on Bowdoin St. for many years. As years went on Dot became Doris' caregiver, taking care of her daily needs, until Doris passed away in February of 1982. Dot later moved to the Suffolk Manor were she enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends. She also loved to watch a good Red Sox game. Dot was best known and loved by all her family and friends for all the gifts and cards that she sent on birthdays and holidays, she never forgot anyone and her family truly loved her for those fond memories of her kindness. Dot attended St. Paul's Episcopal Parish in Malden, when her health allowed her.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister Doris Austin, her brother Warren Austin, her brother Raymond Austin, her sister Marjorie Mooreside, her brother Ed Austin, and her sister Ruth Johnson, her sister Grace Vining.

She was born July 19, 1911 in Peabody, MA the daughter of the late Christopher E. and Mary E. (Sutherland) Austin.

Visitation will be held at Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Wednesday from 9- 11 AM.

Contributions in Dot's memory maybe made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Paul's Episcopal Parish, 26 Washington St., Malden on Wed. Feb. 11th. at 11AM. The Rev. J.C. Woods will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem.
