Judy Ann Aversa

 

     Judy A. (Foster) Aversa, died Tuesday evening, September 8, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a two year battle with cancer, she was 52.  Judy was the daughter of the late George & Ann (Maffeo) Foster. She was educated in St. Josephs School and was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1974.

    Judy later met and married her sweetheart Leonard R. Aversa. The couple married in St. Josephs Church, Malden on August 21, 1977 and remained in Malden and started a family. They had two children Albert & Katie. The family later moved to Wakefield.

     Before her illness Judy enjoyed quilting, using her computer, cooking and reading. Judy worked for the TD Banknorth Garden as an usher during the home games of the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and other activities at the garden. She worked over ten years up until her illness forced her into an early retirement. in May of 2009.

     She is survived by her husband  Leonard  R. Aversa  of  Wakefield, her son Albert  M. Aversa  of Wakefield, her daughter Katie M. Aversa of Wakefield, Her sister-in-law  Frances Drysdale and her husband  Steve Drysdale of  Haverhill, brother in-law Albert Aversa and his wife  Sandra Aversa of Boxford, Richard Aversa and his wife  Diane Aversa  of  N. Andover, daughter in-law of Albert and Mary Aversa of Haverhill,  aunt of  Joseph Delea of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her sister Kathy Taglieri, and her brother-in-law Alfred Taglieri.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 4-8 PM.  

     Judy’s funeral will be held from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden,  on Friday,  September 11th.   at  7:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 9 AM. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett
