Hazel Mae Awad
Hazel Mae Awad, 101, a housewife and mother, died Friday,
October 25, 2002 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Hazel
was born and raised in Malden. She was a very creative amateur
writer and poet. She was also a skilled dressmaker, and did a
lot of sewing for both her family and her church. She was an
avid gardener, and also a member of a book club whom with she
was able to share her large collection of books. Mrs. Awad lived
in Malden, Massachusetts for over 84 yrs and was previously from
ME, 7 years.
She was the devoted mother of Clyde M. Awad of CA, Diane P.
Malcolm of Dedham, Jill L. Amico of Wakefield, and the late June
Plummer, formerly of ME. Mother in law of Rev. Robert Plummer of
ME. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Moses, her parents,
George and Lulu (Richardson) Clough, her daughter June Plummer,
her brother, Erwin M. Clough, and her sisters Gladys Rowe and
Bertram Clough.
Funeral Services will be held at the Weir - MacCuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday, October 28th,
at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Forest Dale Cemetery in
Malden.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 7 - 9 PM.
