Evelyn Margaret Bell

 

     Evelyn M. (Daley) Bell; died Wednesday morning, June 17, 2009 at her home in Malden, MA, she was 86. Evelyn was born in Malden, on February 23, 1923 the daughter of the late James P. Daley & Margaret E. McDonough.  She was educated in Girls Grammar School and was a graduate of Girls Catholic High School, Malden, Class of 1941.

     Evelyn married the love of her life William “Arnie” Bell on April 17, 1948 in the Immaculate Conception Church, Malden; the couple settled in Hyde Park and started a family.  The had lived in Hyde Park for over forty years until her husband Arnie passed away in September of 1990. Evelyn and Arnie were married for forty-two years. Evelyn returned to Malden and was a resident for over 43 years.  Evelyn’s most important thing in her life was her loving family and her beloved Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed her times discussing the games and players with her daughter -in-law Linda.

     She is survived by her sons Arnold W. Bell and his wife Linda of Wilmington, Thomas P. Bell and his wife Sheila of Quincy, her loving sister Barbara Turpin of North Andover, her cherished grandchildren, Philip and his wife Lynne,  Ryan and his wife Lindsey, Maureen and her fiancé Dan, and Eric, Thomas, Michael Bell, along with three great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her father James P. Daley, her mother Margaret E. McDonough, her husband William "Arnie" Bell, her daughter Janice Bell, her sister Agnes Roberts, her brothers John, Joseph, William, and James Daly.

     Visiting hours have been omitted.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem  St., Malden. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden at a later date.

     Contributions in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the local chapter of the; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley Hills, MA  02481. I
