Georgia Belle Bjorkholtz
Georgia B.
(Hogg) Bjorkholtz, of Malden, died Wednesday evening, February 14, 2007 at
Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA Georgia was born on February 12,
1907 in Nova Scotia Canada, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. &
Katherine A. (Stoddart) Hogg, Georgia was 100 years old.
She was
educated in the Rockland Academy in Barrington Passage, Nova Scotia,
Canada. She came to the United States when she was seventeen and settled in
Roxbury with relatives, on August 24, 1924. She later moved to Malden and
married her husband Gustave A. Bjorkholtz on August 12, 1932 in Malden, MA. The
couple would live together for next 56 years until Gustave passing on Sept. 28,
1988.
Georgia had
been a resident of Malden for the last 75 years and was a longtime member of the
Linden Methodist Church which later merged with the Christ United Methodist and
now called the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Malden.
Georgia was active with the Women’s Society of the church where she served as
president. Georgia's favorite pastime was crocheting and doing fancy
needlework. She loved a good Red Sox game and loved listening to the Boston
Bruins hockey.
She is
survived by her brother, Henry F. Hogg of Barrington Passage, Nova Scotia,
Canada and her nieces, Georgia MacTavish of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Linda
Swim of Nova Scotia Canada, Frederick Stoddart of Maryland, Joseph Stoddart of S.
Deerfield and many loving cousins.
She was
preceded in death by her husband Gustave A. Bjorkholtz in September of 1988, her
father Frederick A. Hogg and her mother Katherine A. Stoddart and her sister
Katherine A. Staurt and brother, Ralph M. Hogg.
Visitation will be held at the
Weir ~MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Tuesday,
February 20, 2007 from 2-4 & &-9.

Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. in the Good
Shepherd United Methodist Church, 577 Salem St., Malden, MA. The Rev. Ruth R.
Oduor, will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery
in Malden following the service.
