Olive V. Brown
Olive V.
(Rowe) Brown died Friday evening, December 8, 2006 at the Rivercrest
Long Term Care Facility in Concord, she was 88. Born on August 3, 1918 in
Malden, MA she was the daughter of the late Albert & Winifred (Stacy) Rowe.
Olive was raised in Malden and educated in the Malden School system. She was a
graduate of Malden High School in the 1930's. After her schooling she met and
married her husband Albert W. Brown in mid 1935. The couple settled in
Malden and raised their two children Albert and Diane.
Olive later
attended and graduated from the Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown,
where she received her training in health and nutrition. She settled in a job
and worked as a dietary health aid for the Dexter House Nursing home for over
sixteen years, later retiring in 1979. Olive was a longtime and very active
member of the former Centre United Methodist Church, Malden. She was a member
of Malden Old & New, the Converse Masonic Lodge and served as a Pythian Sister,
and past president of the lodge. She was a loving and caring volunteer at the
Malden Hospital for many years.
She was
the mother of Albert Browne and his wife Judy of Missouri, Diane Helsel and her husband Richard of Littleton, her grandchildren Winniefred
Waldrip and her husband Adam of Everett, Wendy Orfan and her husband
Nicholas of Maryland, Albert Browne and his wife Beth of Missouri, Paul
Everard and his wife Mary of VA, her one great-granddaughter Alex Everard and her
seven great-grandson’s Daniel Waldrip, Emett Orfan, Gabriel Browne, Albert
Browne II, Brendan Browne, Joshua Browne and Elias Orfan.
She
was preceded in death by her husband Albert W. Brown in 1973, her brother’s
Albert and Harvey Rowe, her sister’s Cora Denley and Winnifred Wandelear.

memory may be made to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 577 Salem St.,
Malden.
Relatives and friends are
invited to visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from
2-4 & 7-9.
Funeral
services will be held in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem
St. Malden on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10AM. Rev. Ruth R. Oduor, Pastor
of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in
the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
