Maralyn Marie
Cappello
Maralyn M. Cappello of Malden died in the early morning hours of
Wednesday, February 28th after a brief illness. Beloved wife of
John Cappello and mother to Ann Ryan of Melrose, John Cappello
of Plymouth, Dean Cappello of New York City, and Denise Weber of
Melrose, Maralyn took great pleasure in watching her children
make their way in the world. She was a doting grandmother to
six grateful grandchildren – Jennifer and Benjamin Cappello,
Megan and Meredith Ryan, Olivia Weber, and Lucia Cappello – and
never missed an opportunity to share a photo or a story of one
of their accomplishments or exploits.
Maralyn grew up in Dorchester, the daughter of the late
Ann Annesi and sister to Rosalie Kinch, Charles Annesi, Dolores
Messina, and Norman Annesi. She later met John Cappello of
Medford. They married, had children, shared fifty-six of years
wedding anniversaries, and collaborated on a spectacular
spaghetti sauce.
In recent years, Maralyn was blessed with three
great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, and James Finlay – the
children of her first grandchild Jennifer. She also discovered
email and got in touch with a whole new universe as she sent and
received numerous communications and learned to shop online.
She also leaves behind William Ryan and Paul Weber, two
sons-in-law whom she loved for their ability to change storm
doors and make bad jokes. And daughter-in-law Eileen Cappello,
who filled Maralyn's home with beautiful handmade crafts.
Maralyn was part of a generation that believed it’s
perfectly okay to live for your family and for that she will be
greatly missed and never forgotten by those whose lives she
touched most.
A funeral service will be held in the Weir-MacCuish
Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Saturday,
March 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM. Fr. Joseph Foster, Pastor of
St. Francis of Assisi in Medford, will be the
celebrant. Burial will immediately follow in Puritan Lawn
Memorial Park, Peabody.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday, March 2,
2007 from 4 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maralyn’s memory may be
made to the Sawtelle Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St. Reading,
MA 01867. |
