Thomas Joseph Casey

 

  

Thomas Joseph Casey,  82, a  longtime resident of Malden, passed away quietly  on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at his home in Malden. Mr. Casey was born and raised in Chelsea, MA.  He was the loving husband of the late Mary Casey for over 54 years. Tom was the devoted father to Nancy Menard, Doreen McAdams, and her husband Darell, Mary Beth Leon and her husband Bob, Thomas Casey and his wife Monique, and the late baby Joseph .  He was the grandfather of Ricky, Colleen, Melissa, Mary Lynn, Robert, Casey, Shannon, Joseph, Lauren, and Ryan.  The “Great Grandfather” of Alex, Sydney, and Jack.  He was the brother of Margaret Vieraand the son of the late Thomas and Helen Casey.  He was a dedicated member of the St. Joseph’s Parish in Malden, a member of the St. Josephs Mens Club, the Irish American Club, the VFW Post 639 of Malden, and Past Commander of the American Legion in Chelsea.

Tom was a true family man.  He spent his live loving his family. He was a devoted son to his father and his mother, Helen, who lived to be 100 years old.  Tom loved his wife with his whole heart.  He card for her for over 54 years.  Tom loved his children and his grandchildren, walks to the corner store to play his numbers and get candy for all the children.  He enjoyed volunteering at the St. Joseph’s Bingo and playing golf.  He will always be remembered as the best Santa’s helper.  He had strong faith in God and a great sense of  humor.  He is now resting in peace with his loving wife Mary and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home on Friday, January 19th,  at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, Malden, at 10AM. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 144 Salem Street, Malden,  on Thursday, January 18th,  from 2 - 4,  6-8 PM
