Hortencia Valencia Castillo, 93, a housewife for , where she worked for years, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Changing Seasons Healthcare in Everett, Massachusetts. Hortencia was born September 16, 1914 in Guatemala, the daughter of Domingo Castillo and Bernabela Valencia. She was also raised and educated in Guatamala. She came to the US in 1970, and settled in the Somerville area. Recently, she had moved to Everett. She was an active member of the Iglesia Cristiana Nueve Vida Church in East Boston, where her grandson in the Pastor. She is survived by her children, Thelma Juarez of Saugus, Julia Juarez of Meford, Maria Juarez of E. Boston, Zoila C. Juarez of Somerville, Juan Jose Juarez of Somerville, Clara Luz Juarez of Saugus, as well as ten grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Jose Juarez. Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Friday, Jan 11th, from 4 - 8 PM Funeral services will be held on Wed, Jan 16th, at the Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest Street, Malden. |
