 Mary Chiavelli

 

Mary  Chiavelli,  81, a  longtime resident of Everett, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, Massachusetts.  Mary was born in Everett, in 1925, the daughter of James and Efthemia Yanakopolis.  She was raised in Malden, and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1943.  She went to work for City Electrical Supply in Malden as a book keeper, and was with the company for many years.  In 1965, she and Alfred Chiavelli were married and the two settled in Everett, sharing the next 42 years together. 

Mary was a longtime member of the he Annunciation Church of Greek Orthodox.  She was proud of her Grecian ancestry, and  enjoyed getting together with friends to share their Greek heritage.  She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.  Mrs. Chiavelli lived in Everett, Massachusetts for 42 years and was previously from Malden.

She is survived by her husband Alfred  of Everett, MA, and her step sons,  James F. and wife  Mary E. Chiavelli of Malden, Stephen A. and wife Patrice of Everett as well as 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her Parents,  James and  Efthemia (Harites) Yanakopoulos, her brothers  Paul Yanakopulos,  George Yanakopoulos, and John Yanakopoulos, and her  sisters Julia Serelis, and Anastasia Paicopolos.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden  on Friday, Feb 2nd,  from 4-8 PM

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home.   Father. Peter Rizos will be officiating.  Interment will immediately follow in Puritan Lawn  Memorial Park, Peabody.
