Pauline Frances Contant

 

    Pauline F. (Hubbard) Contant,  of Malden died Friday evening, April 14th. at her home surrounded by her daughters, she was 81.  Born on March 24, 1925 in Wakefield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alphie & Margaret E. (Surrette) Hubbard. Pauline lived in Wakefield for a short while with her family, later moving to Malden and attending the Malden School system. 

    After WW II  she met her sweetheart to be, Robert E. Contant, while they both were working for the former Friend’s Beans in Malden.  The couple married in Sacred Hearts Church, Malden in January of 1947. They stayed in Malden and raised their three daughters.  Pauline worked as a supervisor at the former Lewis Candy Company  for thirteen years and La Touraine Coffee for five years.  She had a very close bond with her loving companion, Honey her dog. Her husband  Robert  passed away on December 29, 2002.

    Pauline had a strong love for her family; she loved gardening, reading, cooking and bingo. She enjoyed shopping and casino  trips with her friends.

    She is survived by her daughters, Linda A. Heartquist of Gilbert, AZ, Donna M. Contant and Roberta J. Contant both of Malden, her cherished granddaughter’s Sandra Heartquist of CO and Erica Heartquist of AZ.

    She was preceded in death by her father Alphie Hubbard, her mother Margaret Surrette, and her husband, Robert Contant, her sister’s Margaret Dalton, Arlene Fischer and Ruth Hubbard.

    Visitation will be held at Weir ~MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Contributions in Pauline’s memory may be made to the Hallmark Health Hospice, 100 Hospital Rd., Malden, MA 02148.

    Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11 AM. in the Weir~ Mac Cuish Funeral Home, 144  Salem St. Malden . The Rev. Paul C. Mc Pheeters of Forestdale Community Church will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
