Harold Cooper
Fredrick
H. Cooper, of Malden, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the
Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, he was 77. Born on
April 28, 1930 in Dorchester, he was the son of the late William
and Mabel (Petitpaw) Cooper. Fred was raised and educated in
Dorchester and was a graduate of the Dorchester public schools.
In December of 1952, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Army to help
fight for our country during the Korean War. He served one tour
in Korea and then entered into the Army reserves for many years
after until he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on May 21,
1960. Fred worked for many years as a fund accountant in at the
State Street Bank in Boston. He worked for the company for over
21 years until he retired in 1990. Fred enjoyed traveling and
was an avid bowler.
Fred is
survived by his close friend, William P. O'Connell of Lowell,
His sister, Ruth Petitpaw of Mattapan, and his nieces and
nephews, Gail Cammarano of Onset, MA, Denise Lyons of Mashpee,
MA, Wayne Flibotte of Bowdoinham, ME, Ralph Flibotte of Malden,
and Patricia Coleman of Fitchburg, MA.
In addition to
his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Mabel
Flibotte and his nephews, Michael Flibotte and William (Bill)
Flibotte.
Funeral from
the Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street,
Malden, MA on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 8 AM followed by a
Funeral Liturgy in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden
at 9 AM. Fr. William Minigan, Pastor of the St. Joseph’s Church
will be presiding. Interment will immediately follow in Puritan
Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
Visitation
will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 20, 2008
from 4 to 8 PM.
