Marie Isabelle Damas

 

Marie Isabelle Damas,  72, a  housewife and mother, where she worked for years, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, Massachusetts.  Marie was born and raised in Haiti.  In 1976, she moved to the United Stated to provide a better life for her family.  They first settled in NY.  Soon after her husband Louis's passing in 1989, she moved to the Malden area.   She attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Cambridge.  She also enjoyed watching church programs on TV.  Marie was fond of music and enjoyed singing, but her greatest joy was in caring for her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her daughters, Marie Claire Janvier  of NY, Agathe Baptiste  of PA, Marie Yolene Damas  of Brooklyn, NY, Myrlande Auguste  of Brooklyn, NY, Marie R. Marcellin of Everett, and Michaelle Dominique of Everett, as well as 8 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Clerencine Estinfort, her sister Lucie Estinfort, and her brother Robert Estinfort.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden,  on Friday,.Oct 12th,  from 5 - 9 PM

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist, 2270 Mass Ave, Cambridge.    Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.
