Rose Marie Darone

  

Rose M. (Munafo) Darone, died Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2006 at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden, she was 99. Born on April 1, 1907 in Sao Paulo, South America, she was the daughter of the late Giacomo Munafo & Santa (Fidato) Munafo.

Mrs. Darone at an early age moved back to Italy where she was educated. She later came to the US in 1918, residing in Revere and Dorchester before settling in Malden over fifty-four years ago. She was employed as a seamstress at Simon & Douglas Manufacturing Co. of Boston for over twenty years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Malden for many years. 

Rose is survived by her daughters Anna M. Stracuzzi and her husband John L. Stracuzzi of Malden, Teresa Kearney of VA, and her daughter in-law Irma Naples of VA. Rose was the loving and cherished grandmother of eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Darone, her father Giacomo Munafo, her mother Santa (Fidato) Munafo, her son John Naples, and her son in-law John Kearney.

Visitation will be held in the Weir ~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

Funeral from the Weir ~ Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden. Rev. William J. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph will be the celebrant.  Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
