Carol May DeMattia

 

      Carol M. (Ahearn) DeMattia of Rockport, formerly of Malden and Medford, died on January 3rd. 2007 at her home, she was 65.   Born on May 12, 1941 in Somerville, MA she was the daughter of the late Norman Ahearn, Sr. and Irene (Carroll) Ahearn.  Carol was raised and educated in Medford and Malden.  Carol had worked various jobs throughout her life.  She worked for the Malden Traffic Department and also was employed with Star Market as well.  Carol’s main job was caring for her family.  She was a very dedicated and devoted mother and grandmother.  Carol had lived in Rockport for the past five years and was previously from both Malden and Medford.

     She is survived by her children, Robert J. Marsinelli of Forked River, NJ, Steven D. Marsinelli of Las Vegas, NV, William K. Marsinelli, Maria Marsinelli of Rockport, Paul S. Sheppard of Medford, Susan DeMattia of Moultonboro, NH, and Tony J. DeMattia of Somerville, her brothers, Norman E. Ahearn, Jr. of Shreveport, LA and John M. Ahearn of Salem and her sixteen grandchildren.

      Visitation will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Tuesday, January 9th.  from 10 AM to 1 PM.  A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1 PM.  Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
