Sarah V. (Forti)
Di Pietro, died Friday evening, October 6, 2006 in the South Lake Hospital in
Clermont, FL, with her family at her side, she was 88. Born on April 17, 1918 in
Malden she was the daughter of the late John & Madeline (Bonofiglio) Forti.
Sarah was raised in Malden and educated in the Malden School system.
In 1941 Sarah
would marry her sweetheart Anthony V. Di Pietro in St. Josephs Church, Malden.
Sarah and Anthony would remain in Malden and raise their daughter
and two sons. The couple spent the next thirty years together caring for their family, until
Anthony's passing on November 15, 1970. Throughout that time Sarah worked for
the Transatron Company in Wakefield, assembling electronic components, with the
3-11PM shift. After fifteen years she moved on to the Automatic Radio Company in
Melrose for next five years with the 7-3PM shift.
Sarah was a
longtime member of St. Josephs Church. In her spare time Sarah was an avid bingo
player and enjoyed playing different nights in Malden, Revere or East Boston.
She loved cooking, crocheting and caring for her family. She enjoyed her nights
out dancing with her friends.
Sarah was the
devoted mother of M. Carol Lauretano and her husband Salvatore of Clermont, FL,
Paul J. Di Pietro and his wife Alice of Wakefield and Louis A. Di Pietro of
Foxboro. Cherished grandmother of Greg Di Pietro, Joanne Vano, Christine
Lauretano and Nicholas Di Pietro, great-grandmother of Isabella and Sophia Vano
and Dylan Di Pietro.
She was preceded in death by
her husband Anthony V. Di Pietro, her siblings Sato, Charles, Anthony, Anne
Forti, Josephine Stanley and Grace Orchard.
Funeral from the
Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Friday, Oct.
13th. at 7:45AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St.
Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 9AM.
Visitation will be held at the
funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
