Irene (Carroll) Ahearn
Irene (Carroll) Ahearn, 80, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at
the Woodlawn Nursing and Rehabilitation in Everett, MA Irene was
born and educated in Medford, MA graduating from Medford High
School. She worked as a cook for many years, and was the Head
Cook for both Raytheon of Lexington and Tufts University
retiring in 1970. After her retirement, she worked as a
volunteer for many years at the Malden Hospital and the New
England Memorial Hospital of Stoneham, with her husband Norman.
Mrs. Ahearn lived in Malden, MA. for 35 Years and was previously
from Medford.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol De Mattia of Malden, her
sons, Norman E. Ahearn, Jr. of LA and John M. Ahearn of Salem ,
her sister, Eleanor Cambell of Beverly, sixteen grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Ahearn, Sr.
She was born August 6, 1921 in Medford, Massachusetts the
daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Bennett) Carroll.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem
St., Malden on Monday, Feb 18th from 6-9PM
At the request of the family a private family service will be
held on Tuesday. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum in
Malden.
