Lucy Ferro
Lucy Ferro, 87, died Tuesday,
July 26, 2005 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford after a lengthy
illness. Born on October 14, 1917 in Malden, she was the daughter of the late
Nicola and Grazia (DiCorato) Loscocco. Lucy was a graduate of Brown Junior High
School. She went to work for the Green Shoe company before she met her
sweetheart, Peter Ferro. She married Peter on April 19, 1941 and the two were
married for 40 years until his passing in 1981. Lucy was a member of the Malden
Senior Citizens Club as well as a member of the Malden Senior Citizens Club
Bowling League. She also belonged to the Patriots Club in Revere. Lucy loved
playing cards with her family and loved the Red Sox. She also loved dancing and
music and having a good time with family and friends. Lucy was a life-long
resident of Malden,
She is survived by her
children, Joseph P. and his wife, Marilyn, Ferro of Melrose, RoseAnn Liggiero
and her husband, Louis J., of Revere, and Nicholas Ferro and his wife, Patricia,
of Fremont, NH, her sisters, Rose DeFranzo of Malden and Angelina DeVito of
Reading, her grandchildren, Leanne Griffith of Malden, Joseph A. Ferro of FL,
Sharon and Darlene Liggiero, both of Revere, Elizabeth D., Jacqueline M., Eileen
M., and Peter J. Ferro, all of Fremont, NH, and her dear, close friend, Alice E.
O'Brien of Malden.
She was preceded in death by
her brother Ferdinand “Fred” Loscocco.
Funeral from the Weir ~
MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Friday, July 29, 2005
at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church,
Fellsway West, Medford at 11 AM. Rev. Joseph R. Foster, Pastor of St. Francis
will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, 2005 from 4-8
PM
