Roger Raymond Fortier
Roger Raymond Fortier, 53, a retired shipper -receiver,
died Sunday, November 25, 2001 at his home in Malden, MA after a lengthily
illness. Roger was born in Berlin, NH and educated in Somerville schools
graduating Somerville High School with the Class of 1966. He then enlisted in
the U.S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War. When he was discharged he
went to work for Wayne Elevator Co. of Boston as a mechanic. He later became the
head shipper- receiver for Brooks Brothers Clothing Store of Boston where he was
employed for over twenty years until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred
Hearts Parish of Malden and very active with the Route 1 Racquet & Fitness
Center of Saugus. Mr. Fortier lived
in Malden, Massachusetts for 32 years and was previously from Somerville .
He is survived by his mother Thelma G. (Forbes) Fortier,
his sister, Lucille J. Medina of Lynn, his brother in-law, Domenic Medina of
Lynn, his nieces, Dawn Marie Medina of Malden, Brenda Ellsworth of Lynn and his
great niece, Kaitlyn E. Ellsworth of Lynn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clovis N. Fortier.
He was born August 7, 1948 in Berlin, New Hampshire the son
of Clovis and Thelma (Forbes) Fortier. He
served in the Army during Vietnam Era.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem St., Malden, on Tuesday
from 6-9 PM
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday,
November 28, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sacred Hearts Church with the Rev.
Francis E. Sullivan of Sacred Hearts Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn Memorial
Park in Peabody.
