Selma Estel Foster Selma Estel Foster, 85, a longtime resident of Malden, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at Epoch Senior Care of Melrose in Melrose, Massachusetts. Selma was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1921, the daugher of George E. & Ethel E. (Burlinson) Foster. At an early age, she moved to Malden where she was raised. She gradutated from Malden High School with the Class of 1939. Selma worked for the goverment in the Social Services Department. She was a clerk of the Division of Employment and Security. She had worked there for over 23 years until her retirement. Selma was an active member of Maplewood Baptist Church in Malden. She also served as a volunteer at Malden hospital for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Foster, and her parents, George and Ethel (Burlinson) Brooks. Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Thursday, April 27th, from 10 - 11 AM A Graveside service will immediately follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest Street, Malden.
