Daniel Edward Geer
Daniel E. Geer of Malden died Friday, December 7, 2007 at his home in Malden, he was 82. Born on October 9, 1925 in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Collins) Geer. Daniel was raised and educated in Boston. At an early age, he went to work to help his mother support their family when Daniel’s father passed away. He worked for many years as a sheet metal worker for the Maplewood Engineering Co. on Broadway in Malden. Daniel is survived by his children Patricia Laird of Malden, Lorraine Morse of Malden, Paul Geer of Malden, Wayne Geer of Malden, Susan Amato of Georgetown, Rosemary Hinton of Bow, NH, Doris Geer of Malden, Cynthia Geer of Malden, Daniel Geer of Malden, Brian Geer of Malden, Robert Geer of Malden, his siblings, John and Francis Geer, both of Peabody, and Rosemarie Grennan of Peabody, as well as 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his former wife, Beatrice M. (Ham) Geer, his daughter, Donna Croteau, and his brothers, James and Paul Geer. A memorial Mass for Daniel will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 9 AM. Interment will be held privately.
