Eleanor Marie Giuffre
Eleanor M. (Sweeney) Giuffre, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 after a long illness in the Kindred Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on July 13, 1929 the daughter of the late Jeremiah F. & Katherine L. (Ludwig) Sweeney. Eleanor was born in Arlington and educated in the Somerville school system. Eleanor worked as a proofreader for the former Recording & Systematical Insurance Company in Dorchester for twenty years until its closing. Mrs. Giuffre had been living in Acworth, Georgia for the last few years, with her husband until his passing and her brother and sister in-law. She was formerly from Malden where she resided with her husband Frank for the last 36 years. She is survived by her brothers Lawrence D. Sweeney of Acworth, GA and his wife LyLy, John J. Sweeney of Woburn, Paul E. Sweeney of Bedford, NH, and her niece Katherine F. Sweeney of Canton, GA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank C. Giuffre who passed away on January 26, 2007, her father Jeremiah Sweeney Jr., her mother Katherine Ludwig, her brothers Robert A. Sweeney formerly of Tilton, NH, Francis L. Sweeney formerly of Saugus, and her sister Doris Stuyvenberg formerly of Florida. Relatives and friends may call at the Weir~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St.,Malden on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2-4 PM only. Eleanor’s funeral procession will leave from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody at 11 AM.
