Arthur Walter Glennon Sr.

 

Arthur Walter Glennon,  60,  retired autobody repairman, passed away Saturday, September 24, at his home in Derry, NH, following a courageous battle with cancer. .  Arthur was born and raised in Malden, attending the Malden School Systems. He also attended St. Josephs Church where he received his first communion.   After high school, he learned the trade of auto body repair, and worked as a "body man" for many years, before opening his own auto body shop, Exchange Street  Autobody, in Malden.  He ran the business for many years until a disability forced his early retirement. Soon after his marriage to Carol A. Lavallee in 1968 the two settled in Reading where they resided for over 30 years, and raised their son Arthur Jr. Arthur had retired  to Derry, NH almost  2 years ago, where he enjoyed spending his time fishing.

He is survived by his wife beloved wife, Carol A. (Lavalee) Glennon  of Derry, NH, his devoted son, Arthur W. Glennon Jr. of Derry, and NH, and his loving sister,  Margaret "Peggy" Rooney (sister) of AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Leo and Helen M. (Convery)  Glennon.

Visitation will be held at the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden,  on Tuesday, Sept 27th,  from 4-8 PM

Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on  Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at  9:00 A.M. followed by a  Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph's Church. Rev. Richard T. Bakker of St. Joseph's Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
