Jean Louisa Graf
Jean Louisa Graf, 85, of
Tenants Harbor ME, and Reading, MA, formerly a resident of Malden, died
Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Maine.
Jean was born and raised in E. Boston, attending the Bishop Cheverus School in
E. Boston. After her graduation, she attended business school. In 1949, she
married her sweetheart, Herbert W. Graf, and the two moved to Malden where Herbert had
resided. After the passing of her husband, Jean took employment with the City
of Malden. She worked as a payroll clerk for 15 years until her retirement in
1985. Jean has been a long time member of the First Church of Malden,
Congregational, and was active with many of the groups within the church. Mrs.
Graf had recently been spending time in Tenants Harbor Maine, after moving to
Reading for 15 years ago from Malden.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence R. Graf of Malden, her daughter, Carolyn L. Garratt-Reed
and husband Anthony of Tenants Harbor, ME,
and her grandchildren, Wendy Schmidt and husband Thomas of Clinton, NY, and Gillian, and
Megan Garratt-Reed of Tenants Harbor, ME.
She was preceded in death by
her husband Herbert W., her parents, Herbert and Jean (Watson) Turner, and her
brother Charles Turner.
Visitation will be held at
the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM
Funeral services will be held
Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 10 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Randall Ferrara of The First Church of Malden, Congregational officiating the
services. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
