Eugene H. “Rocky” Graziose

Eugene H.
“Rocky” Graziose, 85, of Malden , died Wednesday, August 1,
2007 at his home. Rocky was born in Somerville, and grew up
in East Boston. Soon after high school, he enlisted in the US
Army to help fight in WWII. He served as a Rifleman with the Army
Rangers, serving with the 2nd battalion. During the war, he saw
action in Normandy, Rhineland, Northern France, and Germany.
During this time, he was awarded the Purple Heart and 3 Bronze
Stars for his valor in battle. After completing his service, he
returned to the Boston area. He began driving for an ice
delivery company. He then took a position with the Skolr Oil
Company, and worked for them delivering oil for the next 40
years. He retired 20 years ago at the age of 65.
In 1985, Rocky
and Nancy Ratajczyk were married, and the two shared the next 22
years together, living in Marblehead and Saugus before settling
in Malden five years ago. Rocky was a member of the Knights of
Columbus of Lynnfield, a member of the Marblehead VFW Post 2005,
a member of the Marblehead Elks, and a longtime dedicated
member of the Teamsters Local #25. He enjoyed reading in his
quiet time. Rocky also had a great passion for good food, and
was known for his skills in the kitchen where he love to cook.
He is survived
by his wife Nancy (Ratajczyk) of Malden, MA, his children,
Richard P. Graziose of Revere, Joanne J. Powers and dear friend
Ronald of Saugus, Thomas J. Graziose and wife Cindy of
Billerica, his sister Gloria Aaronson of FL, his brothers,
Joseph Vietro of FL, Henry Vietro of Arlington, Gerald Vietro
of Chicago, his brother in law, Richard Doucette of Malden as
well as 9 Grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Esta (Callo)
Graziose, his brother Nicholas Vietro, his sister Carmela Moniz,
and his sister Maria Guinta.
Funeral
services will be held from the Weir~Mac Cuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Saturday, August 4th,
at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St.
Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. . Rev. Richard T. Bakker of St.
Joseph's Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at
Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Visitation
will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Friday, Aug 3rd,
from 4-8 PM
