Sylvia
Greene
Sylvia Greene of Malden, formerly of Reading and Peabody, died
on Monday, August 6, 2007 at her home, she was 69. Born on
October 2, 1937 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late
James and Phyllis (Corbett) Yerxa. Sylvia was a graduate of
Malden High School with the Class of 1956. She went on to
attend Burdette College before taking employment with Avco as a
manager. Sylvia had worked for the research company for many
years, even through the company change to Textron. She later
took employment with the Bentley College Campus Police as an
assistant to the Chief. Sylvia was a member of the Ascott
Riding Club in Peabody and she also loved to travel. Sylvia had
lived in Malden since October of 2006 but was a previous
resident of Reading. She lived in Reading for ten years prior
to moving to Malden, but was a long-time resident of Peabody.
Sylvia is survived by her twin sister, Cynthia and her husband,
George Pompeo of Everett, her sisters, Diane and her husband,
Richard Harden of NH, and Debra and her husband, James Sheedy of
FL, her brother-in-law, Emery Brandano of Malden as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was
preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Brandano.
Visitation
will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem St. Malden on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 3 to 7 PM.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday,
August 11, 2007 at 12 Noon. Rev. Martha A. Dominy, Pastor of
the First Baptist Church in Malden will be officiating. Burial
will immediately follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.
