John Anthony Gulliver Sr.

John
A. Gulliver, Sr. of Westford, formerly of Melrose and Malden, died Friday,
November 10, 2006 at his home surrounded by his loving family, he was 54. Born
on March 7, 1952 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Anthony Danielli
and Dorothy (Gulliver) Sally. John was raised in Cambridge but educated in
Somerville, graduating from the Somerville Trade School. After high school, at
the age of 18, John enlisted in the US Navy to fight for his country during
Vietnam. He served from June 6, 1970 until he was honorably discharged on June
30, 1972. John worked for Century Bank as a courier, but also was employed with
McDonald & Douglass Co. as an aircraft maintenance technician. John also did
mechanical work on boats and was a property manager in Lynn, Melrose, and
Winchester. He married his sweetheart, Bonita “Bonnie” M. (Clark) Gulliver on
November 26, 1988. John and Bonnie were a few weeks away from celebrating their
18th wedding anniversary. John was a past member of the Melrose
V.F.W. He also served as president of the Condo Association in Laconia, NH.
John had a passion for NASCAR racing as well as fishing, boating, and car
collecting. However, John’s true passion was spending time with his family,
especially his wonderful grandchildren. John lived in Westford for the past
four years and was previously from Melrose and Malden.
He is
survived by his wife, Bonita "Bonnie" M. Gulliver of Westford, his children, John A. and his wife, Patricia, Gulliver, Jr. of
Westford, Paul W. and his wife, Jennifer C. Gulliver of Salem, NH, Dale M.
Willett and his finance, Sarah G. Brown of Revere, and Kristen M. Willett of
Melrose, his brothers, Thomas and Charles Sally, both of Malden, Jim and Danny
Danielli, both of NH, his sisters, Brenda Allen and Lisa Snow, both of NH, and
his grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandra, Kristiana, Angelie, and Justin.
A
funeral service will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home 144
Salem Street Malden on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 11 AM. Fr. Vincent Gianni
will be the celebrant. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery,
Westford.
Visitation will be held in the
funeral home on Monday, November 13, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
