Jane Haggerty

Jane
Haggerty died Friday, December 1, 2006 at her home in Danvers, surrounded by her
family, she was 63. Born in Boston on December 4, 1942, she was the daughter of
the late Frederick L. and Priscilla (Cox) Haggerty. Jane and her family moved
to Malden when she was very young. She graduated from Malden High School with
the Class of 1960. Jane attended classes at Northeastern University before she
went on to the Somerville Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated from
nursing school in 1979 and began her career as a labor and delivery nurse at the
Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Over the years, she also worked at the Cambridge
Hospital, Malden Hospital, Winchester Hospital, and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Jane had currently been working for Brigham and Women’s Hospital for a number
of years. Jane had recently become a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an
artist skilled in painting as well as other arts and crafts. Jane enjoyed
Shakespeare plays, Agatha Christie mysteries, was fond of reading and shopping.
Jane proudly owned her own home in Kingston, NH for over nine years before she
moved to Danvers. She resided in Danvers for the past year and had also lived
in Stoneham, Medford, and the Malden area.
Jane
is survived by her children, Ronald J. Cooper of Westminster, Debra J. Pillsbury
of NH, Brian-Patrick Z. Cooper of Revere, Jessica M. Gray of Danvers, her
siblings, Barbara Vatalaro of Malden, Frederick "Fred" L. Haggerty of Nahant,
John P. and James E. Griffin, both of Medford, and her loving granddaughter,
Sara Marie Lambley of Tempe, AZ.
Jane was preceded in death by
her son, Sion-David L. Cooper.
A
funeral service will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home 144
Salem St. Malden on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 11 AM. Rev. T.S. Deacon
Economos will be officiating. Burial will
immediately follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Visitation will be held in the
funeral home on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
