Yvonne Marie
Hamilton
Yvonne M. (Royland) Hamilton died Wednesday morning, May 23,
2007 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, she was 93. Yvonne was
born on March 7, 1914 and was the daughter of the late Frank J.
& Matilda (Savang) Royland. Yvonne was born in Acushnet, MA and
at a young age she moved to Somerville. She was educated at the
Girls Catholic School in Malden and later was a graduate with
the Class of 1933 at St. Clement Catholic High School in
Somerville. After her schooling, she met and later married her
sweetheart, Robert E. Hamilton in June of 1934. The couple
started a family and stayed in Somerville and later settled in
Malden with their three daughters and five sons.
Yvonne worked many years as a waitress in the Cambridge area and
later worked as a secretary at the Malden YMCA for many more
years. Yvonne and Bob were married for sixty-seven years, until
Bob’s passing in February of 2001. In her spare time, Yvonne
enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, cooking and caring for her
whole family.
She was survived by her daughter, Shirley A. MacDonald of
Chelmsford, her son, Allan F. Hamilton of Malden, her daughters,
Geraldine E. Slater of Winchester and Eileen F. Hamilton of
Malden and her sister, Irene Harney of Northbridge. She was
also the cherished grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and
nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Royland, her
mother Matilda (Savang) Royland, her spouse Robert E. Hamilton,
Sr, her sons, David K. Hamilton, Leo J. Hamilton, Paul E.
Hamilton and Robert E. Hamilton, Jr., her brothers, Clarence
Royland, Frank Royland, and her sisters, Irene Harney and
Matilda Royland.

Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 4 to 8
PM.
Friends may gather with the family in the Weir-Mac Cuish Funeral
Home on Friday morning, May, 25, 2007 at 9:30 AM followed by a
graveside service in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn
St., Cambridge at 11AM.
