Shirley Viola Haskell

Shirley V. Haskell, 80, died on Monday, July 25, 2005 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham.   Born on December 27, 1924 in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Reginald L. and Viola (Machum) Haskell.   Shirley was raised and educated in Revere and was graduate from Revere High School.  After school, she took employment with the General Electric Company where she worked for many years as a technical secretary.  Shirley enjoyed traveling throughout New England and visiting covered bridges and other sights.  She was especially fond of the Maine seacoast.  Shirley was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Malden.  Shirley lived in Stoneham at the Bear Hill Nursing Home for the past 6 months but had lived in Revere for the previous 80 years.

She is survived by her brothers, Robert L. Haskell of Canada and Richard L. Haskell of Wakefield as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Weir ~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden at 10 AM.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Rev. Martha A. Dominy of the First Baptist Church of Malden will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 29, 2005 from 4 to 7 PM.
