Helen Marie Hatch
Helen Marie Hatch, 82, a
lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006 at Brigham &
Women's Hospital in Boston. Helen was born in Malden in 1924, in the home her
parents lived on Meridian Street. She grew up attending the Cheverus School,
and graduated with the class of 1942. In 1945, Helen married her sweetheart,
Joseph T. Hatch, and the two shared over 50 years together until Joseph's
passing in 1992. Recently, she had been residing with her daughter Judith, and
her granddaughter Meaghan in Malden.
Helen worked for many years as
an account representative in the Bursar’s office at Tufts University in
Medford. She retired from her position in 1993. Helen loved reading and
gardening, and was skilled in arts and crafts, especially knitting and
crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren,
and was know as the "referee" amongst the family.
She is survived by her
daughter, Evelyn M. and her husband Douglas Miller of Lowell, her son John J.
and his wife Julie Hatch. her daughter, Judith A. Hatch of Malden, her
grandchildren, Meaghan Hatch, Pamela Roderiguez , Jeffery Miller , and Brittney
Hatch, and her great grandchildren, Morgan and Logan, and her very special
friend, Frank A. Fuccillo of Peabody.
She was preceded in death by
her husband Joseph T, Hatch, her parents, John and Abigale (Moynihan) O'Neil,
and her daughter Virginia E. Hatch.
Visitation will be held at
Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Thursday, July 13th
from 4-8 PM
The funeral will be held from
the funeral home Friday, July 14, 2006 at 7:45 A.M. for a Mass of Christian
Burial at 9:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Grace, on the Everett/ Chelsea line. Fr.
James J. Barry of Our Lady of Grace will be officiating. Burial will be in the
Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. |
